Day Eight, Part One

Rif: Okay! Today we have a meeting at the Council of Gold! … Well, easy enough to say…
-The truth is, I'm really bad with speeches.

Killfith: Feeling self-conscious, are we?

Rif: ... That's not what I wanted you to say!
-Anyway, I'll do my best. I just have to make everyone understand that Anise and her gang are trying to nab the demon stone!

Killfith: Heh... do the best you can.

Rif: For some reason, I feel kind of cheated, but thanks anyway!
    -All right! Let's go!

(Rif exits the forging room)

Tier: Oh, Rif, how are you? Were you able to sleep all right?

Rif: Yeah, I slept like a rock!

V.E: Is that so? I'd like to ask if you've already figured out what you're going to say, but…
-Knowing you, I'd be happy just as long as your eight hours of sleep helped your brain to put everything in order.

Rif: You'll see! Soon we'll tell everyone flat-out how Anise and her friends have been trying to get the demon stone!
-But if Master Bostaph really is friends with those guys, I wonder what'll happen…
-Master Bostaph is still pretty suspicious... not to mention scary-looking...

Eliez: (...) Master Bostaph is... suspicious...?

Jade: (annoyed) Hey, Rif! Don't be so bent on distrusting someone just because they're ‘scary-looking!’

Rif: Uh, right! Sorry, Aniki.

Jade: Hold on there! What kind of apology was that?

Killfith: Hmph. If it's just a scary face that makes a villain…

(Everyone looks at Master Benson)

Benson: Hm?

Murno: Killfith, be nice!

Jade: Anyway, don't give that kind of nonsense a second thought. Okay, Eliez?

Eliez: (still upset, but with a small smile) ... Mmkay.

V.E: Well, shall we go, then?

Jade: We'll be waiting outside, so hurry up.

Eliez: I’ve got stuff I need to do, too!

(Everyone departs)

(Side Conversation)
Rif: Today's the big meeting. Let's get to the Council of Gold and stir things up!

Killfith: I think you might actually be incapable of shutting up.

Rif: That’s beside the point!
(End)

(Outside the workshop)

V.E: Are you ready to go to the Council of Gold yet?

Rif:
-Of course I'm ready!  >To the Council
    -Just a little longer.  >Arg

Arg
V.E: Hurry up.

To the Council
V.E: All right, let's go.

Tier: Yay~!

V.E: Hold up, who said you're coming with us?!

Tier: Huh?!

Jade: There’s no helping it. Even if you came, there's nothing you could do.
-Just keep an eye on the workshop for us.

Tier: Cheh… Fine, I'll just leave, then.
    -(departs)

Jade: H-hey, wait up…

Murno: (to Killfith) I wonder where she went.

Killfith: Business transaction, probably.

Jade: Good grief. She goes off on her own just because of a little scolding.

V.E: Only because she didn't want to consent to a little house-sitting. Really, how dreadful.
-Well, no point in dwelling on it. We have some business of our own to put in order.
-Time to get serious! Put on your war face!

Rif: Yes, ma'am!

In front of Bostaph's workshop, Lemmy watches the group, fuming silently. Without a word, he goes into the workshop. Meanwhile, everyone else is staring after him.

Rif: What was that about...?

V.E: Don't get distracted. We’re moving out!

Rif: Uh—yes, ma'am.

(They head off; fade to black)

Night Seven - V.E

V.E: Oh for pity's sake…
-What are you doing out here? Didn't I already say you could take it easy for the rest of the day?

Rif: But after eating the stew you made, I'm full of energy! Master’s stew is the best!

V.E: You guys were so hungry when you got back, I could practically see right through you. I'm glad I could whip something up for you.
-Sorry you ended up with so many vegetables.

Rif: If it meant that Murno could get a little more meat, I don't mind. Besides, I just felt like coming out here and patrolling a bit…

V.E: By patrolling, you wouldn't mean that you're looking for Anise's comrades, are you?

Rif: Of course! I know for sure they're going to target Murno again!

V.E: Sounds like you're trying to beef up this town's security all by your lonesome. But is that really necessary?

Rif: Yeah... but, with just me…

V.E: You never go half-way with anything, do you? It’s just like that cat Randy we used to feed way back.

Rif: What on earth does that cat have to do with this?!

V.E: Everything! Because both of you suddenly disappeared! Who do you think has to worry when something like that happens?

Rif: I—I see... I'm sorry…

V.E: So at the very least, be good and stay home for tonight. Tomorrow we'll explain the situation to everyone.

Rif: Yeah... it's just that whenever I start to think about this stuff, I can't get to sleep…

V.E: If that's all, then you should just snuggle up with me and I could sing you a lullaby. In fact, I can think of a really good rock 'n' roll lullaby—

Rif: Umm... somehow I don't think that would help me fall asleep…

Night Seven - Tier

Tier: Here you are!
-What are you doing? Weren't you supposed to stay at the workshop for the rest of the day?

Rif: Sure, but Anise and her gang could be anywhere, planning to capture Murno again, you know.
-I can't just sit still and do nothing.

Tier: You should stay home and do nothing. Didn't you ever pause to consider you might be causing everyone else a lot of trouble?

Rif: I never meant to do that…

Tier: Oh yeah?! Do you have any idea just how worried I was?

Rif: Oh, well... I guess it would be harder at the Smile Cottage with one less poster girl than you had planned...

Tier: MORON!!

Rif: Wha—what?!

Tier: Quit joking around! I was seriously worried about you!
-After you fell of that cliff... I couldn't help but wonder if... maybe...

Rif: I'm sorry...

Tier: Are you really reflecting on your actions?

Rif: I'm reflecting! I'm really sorry!

Tier: Okay then. In that case, I forgive you.
-So from now on, let's pick up a new mindset and plan out our future in earnest, okay?

Rif: Aha… ha, ha…

Night Seven - Murno

Murno: Here you are.
-What's wrong? Are you thinking about something...?

Rif: Yeah... I just don't understand how sitting back and not doing anything can be a good thing.

Murno: Miss V.E already told us we could take it easy for the rest of the day.

Rif: I guess a lot did happen in Louise Village. I even got to summon a Phantom Dragon.

Murno: We really did a lot today, and after all the trouble we went through to come back, wouldn't it be all right to take it easy just for tonight?

Rif: Sure, but... we don't know when those guys will show up again...

Murno: I'm sorry. This is all because of me...

Rif: Don't worry about that. I mean, you've gone through so much all this time, so don't over-think all that other stuff too much.
-You've already spent enough time on the run, so you can just leave the rest up to me!

Murno: Rif...

Rif: Besides, tomorrow we'll be able to explain to everyone how bad those guys are, and then everyone will understand!

Murno: They might if it was you, Rif, but I don't know if anyone would listen to my words...

Rif: What are you talking about? Of course they'll listen. Heck, when you sit down to talk, they'll be tripping over each other just to get the seat next to you.

Murno: Heehee… that's very kind of you to say. Thank you.

Night Seven - Lemmy

Lemmy: So it is you…
-What are you doing? You're not planning on sneaking out of the town again, are you?

Rif: What are you trying to imply? I was just patrolling the area a bit so that...

Lemmy: Patrolling? What for?

Rif: Right now, Anise and her group could be anywhere, and maybe even looking for Murno as we speak, so…

Lemmy: Hmph… still insisting that they're some kind of comic book villains, I see.

Rif: Are you still saying those guys are your allies? Just because of what Bostaph told you?!

Lemmy: Well… I… haven't been able to speak with Master yet...

Rif: But… the way you reacted just now…

Lemmy: Master is very busy! He shouldn't have to listen to such trivial concerns!

Rif: …! You don't have to get mad like that…

Lemmy: Tomorrow, everyone is going to gather to discuss this matter, correct? Surely then everything will be made clear.
-And you will see once and for all that you have been gravely mistaken in Master Bostaph.

Rif: …

Night Seven - Killfith

Killfith: Here again…
-Hmph... is it okay for you to be out here when that woman told you to be good and stay home for tonight?

Rif: But Anise and her gang could be anywhere right now, waiting to get the jump on Murno. I can't just sit around doing nothing...

Killfith: They won't make life very easy for us, but we should be able to expose their true colors in due time.
-We'll go as far as we have to in order to beat them.

Rif: That's right. One day soon we'll capture those guys and then Murno won't have to worry anymore!
-Especially now that you can transform, it should be a piece of cake! I'll be counting on you!

Killfith: Tch… Don't get carried away.

Rif: What are you talking about! Hey, you can do it with me now, right? From way back when, with a whole lot of fighting spirit put in!

Killfith: Fighting spirit? You can't mean—

Rif: Exactamundo! You've already learned it, right? Come on, let's yell it together!

Killfith: I knew it...!

Rif: For a Craftknight!
    -A hammer is…
    -... What's wrong?

Killfith: I’m begging you... anything but that.

Rif: (surprised) Huh?! Killfith politely asking me a favor? … I think the world might be coming to an end…

Night Seven - Jade

Jade: Yo! What's up?
-What's wrong? Didn't V.E tell you to stay home for the rest of the day?

Rif: I know, but Anise and her gang could be anywhere right now, waiting to strike against Murno, you know?
    -Although I know there's not much I can do…

Jade: Which is why you should just stay home! Or do you actually think you can bolster this town's defenses all by yourself?
-I’m not gonna let you disappear on us again!

Rif: Why would you say it like that?

Jade: Because of you! The way you're acting! Don't you think you've worried us enough for one day?!

Rif: I… I'm sorry…

Jade: Wait—no, I'm sorry. I didn't to mean to get mad like that… Heck, I don't even have the right to be angry…
-Back when you guys fell off that cliff, I couldn't even save you... I just…

Rif: Hey! That wasn't your fault! If I had been able to keep my grip on Murno—

Jade: No... if Rob was there, I'm sure he could've done something...

Rif: Master Rob...

Jade: Anyway, you're not the only one who knows how to be stubborn! Patrolling is my job!
-You just head back to the workshop.

Rif: I understand... I'll go back.

Jade: Good! And as long as I'm patrolling, I might as well escort you there myself.

Rif: No, that's okay! I can head back by myself!

Jade: Can it! I'm going with you whether you like it or not!

Day Seven, Part Thirteen

(Side Conversation)
Rif: Now that things have calmed down, I'm getting really hungry. Let's hurry back to the Town of Prosban.

Murno: Heheh, that’s so like you. But actually, I seem to be running on empty, too.

Killfith: Tch… you guys are too optimistic... that Benson menace is still there in that workshop.

Rif: When you put it like that, I actually do get kind of scared…
(End)

Near the exit of Bayreat Forest...

Eliez: Ah, there they are! Big sisters Rif and Murno!

Murno: Thanks for coming to welcome us, Eliez.

Zakk: Are you guys all right?

Rif: Sorry, Eliez, Zakk. Seems we made you worry, too.

Zakk: Can you blame us? Disappearing out of nowhere like that…
-I mean, I wasn't! I wasn't worried or anything like that, not really!

Killfith: Hmph... you haven't changed, have you.

Zakk: By the way, when Lemmy came back just now, he was acting kinda weird.
-Did something happen? Did you guys...

Tier: It’s just something that happened when we found Rif. It’s a long story.

Zakk: Um, uh, okay... if you say so…

V.E: Well then, we're going to report everything you've told us.

Jade: Be sure to look after Eliez.

Rif: Right.

(Benson's Workshop)

Eliez: I'm home! And look, so's everyone else!

Rif: Um... I'm really sorry for any trouble we might have caused.

Benson: Hm!

Rif: Um... you're not angry, are you?

Benson: …

Killfith: Tch…

Eliez: Master's really happy.

Benson: Nn?!

Murno: Heheheh… he's just shy…

Benson: Hm!

Rif: ... I don't get it at all.

(Nighttime)

-Master and the others came back that evening. They told us that everyone's going to gather at the Council of Gold tomorrow to discuss what's happened.
-I guess there's no way around it, but if we don't catch Anise and her accomplices as soon as possible…

Rif: Master said that while we were in Louise Village, no one saw Anise's comrades anywhere near the town.
-Which leaves the question of where on earth they could be hiding…
    -(?) Huh? Looks like someone's there…

Day Seven, Part Twelve

Reunion
(Everyone gathers together)

Rif: Everyone...! Even Lemmy!

Lemmy: I wasn't looking because I was worried or any such nonsense, it's simply that Zakk…

Jade: Sounds like someone's grasping at straws.

Tier: I'm just so glad!

V.E: Thank you, everyone…

Rif: (...) Um... Really, thank you.

V.E: Hey.

Rif: Yes!

V.E: As touching as this reunion is, I think it's about time for you to explain to us what exactly you've been doing for the past couple of days.
-(with a pleasant smile) And don't leave out any details, okay?

Rif: Weell…

(fade to black)

Rif: … And that's when we started heading back this way.

V.E: That's an awful lot to take in, but I think I got the gist of it. All that's left is to figure out what to do about it.

Jade: If Govan's Demon Stone was put back, the Stray Summons that've gotten out of control might settle down, but if those people are still aiming to get it...

Tier: They definitely want to use it for something bad! We've gotta track down those guys!

Lemmy: (...) So I gather that everyone else here believes their story?

Rif: (annoyed) Excuse me? Are you saying that we're lying?

Lemmy: Those people have a binding contract with Master Bostaph to exterminate Strays for the sake of this town.
-And yet you seem to be implying that they were looking for the demon stone in order to bring Stray Summons under their heel.
-Are you trying to tell me that the contract is false? Are you accusing Master Bostaph of being a liar?!

Killfith: If the shoe fits.
-Why else would he screw around with those cretins if not to obtain the demon stone's powers?

Lemmy: Don't you dare insult Master Bostaph!

Rif: But—I'm telling you, we're not lying!

Jade: Knock it off! Calm down, you guys!

V.E: Why do I get the feeling this is one fight we won't be able to stop?

Lemmy: Shut up! If you won't take back what you said of your own accord, then I will silence you by force!
    -(takes out his sword)

(Rif and Lemmy fight; Rif wins)

Lemmy: Dammit...! Why...?!

V.E: After fighting personally with Rif, I'm sure you understand just fine. They're not lying to us, you know.

Lemmy: So Bostaph is connected with a group of people who attacked a village...? Something like that, I just can't...

Rif: (...) Lemmy…

Lemmy: (!) That's right...! They must have tricked him!
-If I don't tell him right away...!

Rif: Wait! Just what are you—

(Lemmy leaves)

V.E: (...) Good grief... he's already gone...
-Somehow I get the feeling his association with those people isn't a simple matter of not asking enough questions.

Jade: It doesn't exactly look like there's anything we can do, though, is there?
-If Lemmy let himself doubt for once second, the reality is that it’d be impossible for him to do anything.

Killfith: Tch...! What a simplistic way of thinking.

Rif: So, what should we do now?

V.E: After the day you've had, you kids should just head back to Jade's place for some well-earned rest.

Rif: Seriously, that's it?

Jade: Sure, why not? Just leave the rest up to us.

Murno: ...

V.E: It's all right. That alone would take a load off of everyone's mind, trust me.
-Just do like Rif does and don't over-think all these complicated problems.

Murno: ... All right...

Tier: Come on, let's go back already!

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Day Seven, Part Eleven

(Side Conversation)
Rif: I really don't want to go through Master's wrath, so I'm really not looking forward to going back to the Town of Prosban…

Killfith: Aniki will probably want to give us a scolding as well. Hmph… delightful.

Murno: (while looking at Rif) Tier is sure to be just as scary as both of them. She would have been really worried about you.

Rif: (Right now Murno is scarier than all of them combined...)
(End)

(Bayreat Forest)

???: Hey…! Rif…!

Rif: (?) Wasn’t that voice—?!

(Side Conversation)
Rif: It sounds like someone's looking for me. I wonder who…

Killfith: Probably Master. I don't even want to think of what'll happen if she finds us. Hmph… just wonderful.

Rif: W-when you put it like that, it makes it even scarier… but if it was Aniki, he'd definitely put us through the wringer…

Murno: And who knows what Tier would do…

Rif: Yeah... we better make sure we're fully equipped.
(End)

As soon as you walk up the stairs, someone appears.

If last night you lamented missing V.E’s stew,  >Redhead
If you wanted to see Aniki’s scary face,  >Tough Guy
If you wondered about Tier,  >Genki Girl

Redhead
(Enter V.E)

V.E: (!) Ah…
    -RIF!

Rif: Uh, Master!

V.E: You kids...! What on earth have you been doing, this is...!
    -(steps forward)

Rif: Eep! I'm sorry, I'm really sorry!

(V.E wraps her in a hug)

Rif: Huh...? Um...? Master...?

V.E: You had us worried out of our minds...
-(lets go and smacks her over the head)

Rif: Youch!!

V.E: Killfith! Murno! You too!

Killfith and Murno: (panicked) ...!

V.E: (turns away) (sigh)
-Gee whiz, after all this time wandering all over the place…! Everyone has been worried sick looking for you!

Rif: Everyone else, too...?

V.E: Hey! I've found Rif and the others!  >Reunion

Tough Guy
(Enter Jade)

Jade: (!) Huh...?!
    -RIF?!

Rif: Ah, Aniki!

Jade: Y... you guys...
-(annoyed) We've been worried out of our minds looking for you. Tell me, have you put some thought into an excuse that'll explain where you've been all this time?
    -HUH?

Rif: No... I mean... tha—wait I'm not ready!

(While she panics, Jade walks up and puts a hand on her shoulder)

Rif: (!)

Jade: I'm sure there'll be plenty of time to hear all that later. Just be sure you’ve got something to say.

Rif: Er...? Um...? Aniki...?

Jade: Murno, Killfith… You guys too.

Murno and Killfith: (surprised) …

Jade: (turns away) Honestly... worried half to death...
-Anyway, we'd better let everyone else know you're all right so they can have some peace of mind.

Rif: Everyone else...?

Jade: Heey! I've found Rif and the others!  >Reunion

Genki Girl
(Enter Tier)

Tier: (!) No way… Rif...?

Rif: Tier...!

Tier: IT'S RIF!
-(runs up to Rif and gives her a hearty glomp)

Rif: What the—?! Hold on, what just happened?!

Tier: Rif! Rif!
    -(hugs tighter)

Rif: Urk…! Wai… can't… breathe…!

Tier: Oh thank goodness! What on earth happened with you?! I was so worried!

Rif: We... were... ......... ............ ghk...!
    -(convulses slightly)

Murno: Tier, wait! She's suffocating!

Tier: Huh?! Oh...!
    -(lets go)

(Rif, literally blue in the face, takes deep breaths)

Rif: Oh boy... I thought I was a goner...

Tier: Well... that's what you get for worrying me half to death!

Rif: Ah… yeah, about that...
    -I'm sorry.

Tier: You should apologize to everyone! Murno and Killfith should, too!

Murno: (while Killfith looks depressed) Yes.

V.E: (from off-screen) Hey! Tier, did you find something?  >Reunion

Day Seven, Part Ten

(In front of the prison)

Rif: Geez... if I'd only been paying attention then...

Tram: It's not your fault.

Gallahan: Indeed. The three of you did well today. You should be proud. It was a long, hard day!

Rif: ...

Tram: (to Murno) By the way, were you able to learn anything about the enchanted crystals?

Murno: They looked exactly like the ones in my village… they emanated such an immense power... and then, the Summon Creatures that began acting out...
-The crystals released such a strong power in response to the demon stone that it caused Magdorad to act strangely.
-That power is the same as the one Killfith felt when we fled from Mishews Village…
-I wonder if any of this would have happened if I hadn't taken the demon stone from the village…

Killfith: Murno—

Rif: That couldn't be helped, though. Anise and her people were trying to take it.

Murno: And yet, while they were going after the demon stone so relentlessly, I couldn't do anything…
-Only, father… he told me that only I could protect it, and that I shouldn’t let it pass into anyone else’s hands…

Tram: According to the stories you have told us, it seems that a long time ago the people of Mishews Village came here to build Louise Village.
-I can only surmise the reason has to do with Govan's Demon Stone, but I wonder about that detail of how it “possesses great power”…
-It makes me think that Anise may have also known about the story, even those small details…

Rif: But... if we just put it back where it came from, wouldn't everything go back to normal?

Murno: I don't know if that would work... even if it would, I don't know if that's an option at this point…

Tram: That's right… they may still be keeping an eye on Mishews Village. That in mind, you should immediately begin preparations for departure.

(Surprise!)

Rif: Huh? You mean you're letting us go home?
-But what about what you said before, about keeping the village's secrets...?

Tram: (smiles) After all you've done to help save our village, there's no reason to be suspicious of you anymore. We are forever in your debt.

Rif: Wow, thank you.

Tram: Truly, we should be the ones thanking you.
-The exit is just up ahead. Let us know when you're ready to depart.

(Side Conversation)
Rif: Tram and Gallahan are waiting at the exit to the village. I've gotta say, I'm more than ready to go home.

Killfith: It's about time. I'm sick of this village.

Rif: Still, I can’t believe we let Anise slip away from us…

Murno: Don't be so hard on yourself, Rif. Even with all the terrible things going on, you still did your best...

Rif: Thank you, Murno.
(End)

(At the village's exit)

Tram: Are you ready to leave Louise Village?

Rif:
-All set and ready to go!  >Outta this loony bin!
    -I think there's something I forgot…

Outta this loony bin!
Tram: Is that so? But first, take this.

Rif: What is this? A scale?

Tram: It's a scale from Lord Nushi himself. You can keep it as a sort of protective charm, if you will.

Rif: A protective charm, huh... thank you. I'll be sure to keep it safe!

(Obtained Phantom Dragon Scale!)

Tram: I suppose this is where we part ways, but please feel free to return any time you like.

Rif: I will! So stay safe while I'm gone!
    -(...)
    -You too, mister… stay strong!

Gallahan: (smiles) I will.

Murno: Be sure to look after yourself.

Gallahan: I will…

Killfith: Hmph... guess this is goodbye…

Gallahan: Indeed…

Rif: Hey, mister…
-Thanks for listening when I said I was a Craftknight. It made me really happy.

Gallahan: Huh?!
    -(turns away)

Rif: (?) Mister, are you crying?

Gallahan: Bah! Don't poke fun at your elders! You should be on the road already!

Rif: Okay, I'm going! Bye then!

(Tram steps out of the way and the three children walk through the exit)

Gallahan: (watching them go) … They're gone…

Tram: Gallahan… I see, you were thinking of your daughter...

Gallahan: What nonsense is that? I'm going as well.

(The Flawed Caves)

Rif: Wow! To think we ended up here... I didn't see that coming...

Killfith: Hey. What are we doing now?

Rif: Good question... What about Murno's Village? Should we try to return the demon stone?

Killfith: First we have to think of a way to dispose of Anise's gang.

Murno: He's right... they already know about Mishews Village…
-In the meantime, I'll bet Miss V.E and everyone else is worried about us.

Rif: No doubt about that... but Anise might already be in town, you know, and Master's gonna beat me black and blue after disappearing for so long…
-So, I'm not too enthusiastic about going back yet…

Murno: But, if we just leave things as they are…

Rif: Yeeeahh... I guess...
-Well then... we'll get closer to town for now and figure out something from there.

Murno: Heeheehee…

Rif: What? Did I say something weird?

Murno: Yep. It was very Rif-like.

Killfith: Indeed, that response was very like you.

Rif: Heheheh, somehow that doesn't sound very flattering...

Killfith: How lucky to be so simple.

Murno: Anyway, let's start heading towards town.

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Day Seven, Part Nine

(In front of the ruins)

Rif: Sorry it took so long! We brought Anise!

Tram: Thank you. Now, let us…

(The ground rumbles)

Rif: What is it this time?!

Killfith: Tch! Up there!

(Magdorad stands in a hole high in the wall of the ruins)

Magdorad: Grrroar…
-(jumps down to the plaza in front of them)

Tram: Magdorad...! Anise!

Anise: Magdorad!

Magdorad: …

Anise: Magdorad… you…

Magdorad: …

Anise: I understand…
    -Now behave!

Magdorad: GRRRUUUUAAAAAAHH!!

Rif: What the?!

Anise: Why isn't he listening to my orders?!

(Magdorad spits out a fireball)

Anise: No...! Stop this...! Magdorad!

(He spits out another fireball)

Anise: I said stop this right now!
-(alarmed, takes a step back) What?!

Tram: (!) Look out!

(He pushes Anise out of the way, taking the hit himself)

Rif: Are—are you all right?!

Tram: Ah... the... Summon... ite... where…

Rif: The Summonite...?! Are you saying you dropped it?

Killfith: (picks up something from the ground) Hey! I've got the Summonite here!

Rif: Right!

Magdorad: Grroaar!

Rif: Oh man...! He's getting another fireball ready...!

Tram: The name...! Lord Nushi—you need to call out…!

Rif: (panicking, holds up the Summonite) Pha—Phantom Dragon!!

(The Phantom Dragon appears, emerging from a sphere of purple light)

Rif: Holy...! Did I summon him...?!

Phantom Dragon: MRAAaahh…

Tram: Don't... worry... after the fight before, Lord Nushi... will be able to communicate directly with your thoughts...

Rif: He... will...?

Phantom Dragon: Rhhaaa...

Tram: He's asking for your help… Rif…

Rif: ...! Understood...!
    -I'll do my best!!

(Phantom Dragon and Magdorad fight)

Rif: (...) Looks like he's quieted down…

(Magdorad disappears)

Rif: Huh?! He vanished...?!

Killfith: Tch... he was probably sent home...

Rif: Sent home... but how did...?
-(looks around and notices something rather important)
-Crap! Anise isn't here?! When did she...?!

Tram: She must've taken advantage of the confusion and fled then. It seems she also took back the Summonite...

Rif: She escaped?! We have to chase after her!

Killfith: Knowing her, she’ll probably come back with her friends in order to take away the demon stone.

Tram: I don't think that'll happen...

Rif: Why not?!

Tram: She knows very well what would happen if she gave that group an invitation to come back to this village.
-Anise might hate this village, and perhaps there is nothing left here that she loves, but…
-In any case, we need to spread out and search!

(fade to black)
-But in the end, we weren't able to find Anise...

Day Seven, Part Eight

(Side Conversation)
Rif: The best way that we can help is to help the prison watchman escort Anise!

Killfith: What I want to know is if bringing that person along will really do us any good.

Rif: I can’t say I know the answer to that, but if this is the only thing we can do right now, then we are going to do it!
(End)

(Prison)

Rif: Excuse me! Prison Guard! Mr. Prison Guaaard!!!
    -(...)
    -(?)
-Don't tell me... he's not here? Where could he have gone at a time like this?!

Anise: If it's the guard you're looking for, looks like he ran out of here.

Rif: (!) He ran away?! You’ve gotta be kidding!

Anise: I told him, “I heard a voice before. Has Magdorad lost control?”
-Then I mentioned he'd probably come to see how I was doing, and it got quiet all of a sudden.

Killfith: I see... so he ran off.

Anise: Hey, what exactly did you guys do to Magdorad?!

Rif: We didn't do anything! He just suddenly attacked us, without an order or anything!
-That's why we came to fetch you...

Anise: Then hurry up and get me out of here!

Rif: You say that but... where is the key?!

Anise: How am I supposed to know! If you don't have a key, just use your hammer to break the lock!

Rif: Fine, just stand back...!

(Side Conversation)
Rif: Since we don't have a key to get Anise out of her cell, we'll just have to break the lock!

Killfith: If you want a pat on the head for figuring that out, don’t look at me.
(End)

Rif: (smashes the lock) Okay, I broke it!

Anise: (comes out) Took you long enough. We have to hurry!

Killfith: You say that, but how do we know you're not just planning to escape?

Anise: I wouldn't do that at a time when Magdorad needs me! Do you still doubt me?

Killfith: After everything you've done, how are we supposed to believe anything coming out of that ugly mug?

Anise: Ha! You just can’t let go of a grudge, can you? Aren’t you supposed to be my shepherd and lead me out of here?

Killfith: Shepherd? Don’t think you can screw with me, you little—

Magdorad: (from a distance) roaaaarr…

Rif: We don’t have time for this. We have to hurry! You come with us too, all right?

(She holds out a hand to Anise, who slaps it away)

Anise: Don't touch me! I don't want any apprentice of his anywhere near me!

Rif: That again… I guess asking what happened between you and Master Rob will have to wait, though…
    -Let's go!

(Side Conversation)
Rif: Anise, we'll take you to the ruins, and hopefully you'll be able to get Magdorad to settle down.

Killfith: Go ahead and try to run. It'll give me a good excuse to put an end to you.

Anise: If you have the time to make pointless threats, then pick up the pace.
(End)

Day Seven, Part Seven

Eventually, they enter the room they've been looking for. Killfith pauses.

Killfith: Tch... this room gives me an even worse feeling than all the rest of the place.

(They walk forward and see the enchanted crystals)

Rif: That must be what Murno was looking for.

Magdorad: Grroar…

Rif: And there's Magdorad... just as impressive as I remember...

(Murno takes a few steps forward)

Killfith: Hey...! What are you doing? Come back here!

Murno: It's all right. Although he looks a little scary, I don't think he'll do anything to hurt us.

Rif: Are you sure about that...?

Tram: It's true. Unless a Summoning Master gives him a direct order, he will not commit any violence against us.
    -Or perhaps you're simply frightened?

Rif: What?! I'm not scared at all!

Tram: Then hurry on. Be of some use.

(quick fade to black)

(Side Conversation)
Rif: How am I supposed to help Murno look at enchanted crystals?

Killfith: By not getting in the way.

Rif: All right, I got it!
(End)

Once she gets bored of twiddling her thumbs...

Rif: Well, Murno? What do you think?

Murno: These enchanted crystals... I'm still not sure if they're exactly the same as the ones from my village...

Killfith: Tch... I'm getting a really unpleasant feeling. Are they resonating with Govan's Demon Stone?

Murno: With the demon stone...? (looks at it)

Killfith: This feeling... that's right... it's similar to the sense I got when we left the village...

Rif: What...? I don't get it, what's going on?

(Murno looks at the demon stone)

Murno: In the demon stone, there's something...

(flash of light)

Rif: Crap! What is it now?!

Magdorad: (!) Grrroaaarr...

Tram: Magdorad, what's wrong?

Killfith: Tch...! That unpleasant feeling I had just got a lot worse.

Murno: I don't believe... could this have been the cause of all the Summon Creatures becoming violent...?!

Magdorad: GRRAAAAHHH!!!
    -(shoots off a fireball)

Murno: AIEEE!

Rif: Murno! Are you okay?!

Tram: What's wrong with you, Magdorad?!

Killfith: Didn't you say he wouldn't do anything unless a Summoning Master ordered him to?!

Tram: This can't be...! I never gave an order...!
-It's dangerous here! We must retreat for now!

(Outside the ruins)

Gallahan: Are you all safe? What in God's name happened down there?!

Tram: Magdorad suddenly turned against us. We must notify everyone!

Gallahan: Understood. But what about you?

Tram: If we’re to have any chance whatsoever, I'll have to ready the Phantom Dragon.

Gallahan: I see. Perhaps we should bring Anise along to help, as well.

Tram: Perhaps we should. Calling Anise here might be our only hope.

Rif: (...) What should the three of us do?

Tram: You should escape immediately! I don't know what will happen, so you should flee from here as quickly as you can!

Rif: Run away...

Rif:
-Understood! We'll get out of here.  >Following Orders
-Hold on a minute.  >Not So Fast

Following Orders
Rif: He's right! We should go, Murno!

Murno: Wait! Isn't there anything I can do to help?

Rif: Murno?!

Gallahan: What are you talking about! This isn't a matter for children to get involved in. You need to leave quickly!

Murno: It might have been my fault that Magdorad started acting out. For me to just run away...

Killfith: Murno...
-I understand what you're trying to say, but you'd only get in the way.

Rif: Wait, Killfith, what are you saying?!

Killfith: (to Rif) Which is why in Murno's place, you'll be helping out instead. Got it?

Rif: Oh... yeah... I got it.

Murno: Thank you, Killfith.

Killfith: (blushes and looks away) Tch... it was nothing.

Gallahan: (annoyed) Listen! This isn't a game!

Rif: I know that... but we are Craftknights, and that means there's something we can do.
    -... Don't you think, Killfith?

Killfith: Tch... of course.

Gallahan: Rif... you can be awfully stubborn when you want to be, can't you? Tram, what do you think?

Tram: Thank you, Killfith...
-In that case, please go to the prison watchman and have him bring Anise here.

Rif: Understood!  >Tasks

Not So Fast
Rif: I am a Craftknight! I can't run away just because the going gets tough! There must be something I can do to help.

Killfith: Tch... I thought you might say something like that.

Murno: Rif, Killfith...

Gallahan: Don't spout off the first idiot thing that comes to mind! You kids should hurry and find a safe place!

Rif: No way! There should be something we can do here besides run!

Gallahan: Rif... you can be awfully stubborn when you want to, can't you? Tram, what do you think?

Tram: Thank you, Rif, Killfith...
-In that case, please assist the prison watchman in bringing Anise here.

Rif: Go to the prison. No problem!  >Tasks

Tasks
Tram: Miss Murno, you go with Gallahan!

Gallahan: (to Rif) Leave Murno up to me. Under no circumstances are you to do anything reckless! Understood?

Rif: Yes, sir!

Murno: Rif, Killfith, take care, both of you.

Day Seven, Part Six

(Side Conversation)
Killfith: Murno's going to look at the enchanted crystals. Why are you moving so slowly?

Rif: But, I was just thinking that if I went to investigate the crystals too, I might just get in the way...

Killfith: ... Tch.

Rif: Haha, I'm just kidding. Let's get going!
(End)

Further ahead…

Tram: I was beginning to wonder if you'd gotten lost somewhere along the way.

Rif: We're not lost at all. Right, Killfith?

Killfith: I'm here. Is there someone I have to collect?

Rif: See there! … Wait, what?!

Tram: They have a good relationship, don't they?

Murno: They really do.

Magdorad: (from a distance) Graaarrr…

Rif: What was that?!

Tram: It sounds like Magdorad has gotten a lot better. That's good to know…
-He was so weak after bringing Anise back that I was worried he might not recover.

Murno: Why do you think he was so weakened?

Killfith: When you all fell off the cliff, he dove in with me so that he could rescue that human Anise.
-He’s lucky he survived, considering that as a fire-breather, his weakness is water.

Rif: Going that far just to save her...

Tram: Anise and Magdorad are bound in such a way that she can manipulate Magdorad’s thoughts.
-Perhaps that’s the reason why Voijin led Anise in particular to his side.

Murno: In other words, he wanted to obtain Magdorad's powers…

Tram: Voijin and his companions had heard rumors that a Summon Creature with enormous strength was hidden in this village, and that's what they came looking for...
-After they had taken the villagers hostage, they threatened to take a life for as long as the Summon Creature did not reveal itself.
-And then, in order to prove that they were serious… they grabbed one of the villagers… Muzan… and ended his life.
-That man was not only serving as the village chief at the time, but was my father… they stole his life away, and then…
-Gallahan's wife and child as well...

Murno: That's awful...

Rif: How could they do that?! That’s completely unforgivable…
-But, why didn't you use the Summon Creatures to fight? Even with just the two of them, wouldn't you have been able to win?

Tram: Even if we had done that, they probably would have continued picking us off. With things like that, and so many defenseless people already…
-But even more than that, if they had managed to sow discord in both Magdorad and Lord Nushi, everyone in the village would have been killed.

Rif: (face falls) …

Tram: Therefore, in order to prevent further sacrifices... only the Phantom Dragon came in our defense…
-Anise… unveiled Magdorad... seeking to sacrifice herself...

Rif: I didn't know that...

Tram: After everything we went through... how on earth did she get trapped in their grasp...?

Murno: …

Tram: Ah, forgive me. Let's hurry on ahead.
    -(leaves with Murno)

Rif: (...)

Day Seven, Part Five

(Rif wins the match with Tram)

Rif: I won! I did it, Murno!

Murno: Rif... Thank goodness…

Tram: I lost… please accept my apologies for all the rude things I said before.

Rif: Huh?! No, it's fine, you don't really have to apologize.
-And anyway, taking a little bit of your sarcasm is really nothing compared to the kind of flak I've gotten from the people in Bostaph's Workshop, you know.

Tram: Haha... Thank you.

Gallahan: You both did very well. It was a good match.

Rif: Heehee.

Tram: Thank you for your hard work, Gallahan.
-(to Rif) According to our deal, you and your friends have my permission to progress further into the ruins.

Killfith: See there, Murno?

Murno: Thank you. I’m glad everything worked out.

Tram: The enchanted crystals are near an altar up ahead. The Summon Creatures there will be even stronger than those before, so be sure to take care.

Murno: Out of curiosity... what on earth is it that the Summon Creatures are protecting?

Tram: Magdorad, a Summon Creature that possesses incredible power.

Rif: Magdorad... no way, you mean the same Summon Creature that Anise summoned?

Tram: That's right, you already know about him.
-The Phantom Dragon and Magdorad are the Summon Creatures from whom we borrowed power in order to create Louise Village.
-Each ruin was supplied with Summonite so that they might fulfill the last part of their duty, which is to protect this village's treasure.

Rif: Does that mean she took it?

Tram: Before you go jumping to conclusions, Anise had taken Magdorad in order to save this village…
-I still believe that, even now.

Rif: (face falls) …

Tram: But after discovering the secrets of this village, I will not be able to simply send you back.

Rif: What are you saying? Shouldn't it be fine as long as we promise not to say anything?

Tram: Maybe if it was just Miss Murno, but you seem like you might give everything away by accident.

Rif: Excuse me?!

Tram: Well, now that we're done with story-time, let us proceed to the enchanted crystals in the floor below.
-Magdorad is highly revered by our people, so please take care not to startle him. Now let us be off, Miss Murno.
-(takes Murno's hand, much to Killfith and Rif's annoyance)

Murno: Wha, wai—!

Rif: Hold on, why does Murno has to go with you this time?!

Tram: You already won against me, so isn't it only fair you indulge me by letting me guide her?
-Or if I'm not allowed to protect her, perhaps I shouldn't let you move ahead either?

Rif: What on earth does that have to do with anything?!

Tram: Anyway, let's head off.

Killfith: Tch, taking Murno again...! Hey, you, what are you standing around for!

Rif: This again... geez...!

Gallahan: Take care of yourself, young lady!
    -(departs)

April Fool's Prank

(Rif wins the match with Tram)

Rif: I won! I did it, Murno!

Murno: Rif... Thank goodness…

Tram: I can't believe I lost... I guess I'll finally have to admit that potato dumplings are not suitable bait for fishing.

Rif: Huh?! No, just because you lost, you don't have to go that far.
-Besides, I use potato dumplings as bait all the time! It's not as good as using lobsters or clams, though.

Tram: Haha... we sure know some high-class fish, don't we.

Gallahan: Easy for you to say. If I don't use a wooden fishing pole, I can't catch anything because the power meter goes too fast!

Rif: Speaking of that, do we eat the fish after we catch them or do we sell them?

Tram: That's a good question. They always seem to turn into points after I catch them.
-Although perhaps the fisherman at the pond simply uses a point system to measure how much you earned per fish.

Killfith: See there, Murno?

Murno: Yes, they really do have a lot of pointless arguments.

Tram: Come to think of it, I wonder why he sits there and lets us use lobster as bait. Does he do that for everyone?

Murno: If that's true, all the fishing being done must be devastating to the local economy.

Tram: Not to mention all the fishing necessary to obtain lobsters and clams to use as bait. By the way, do you think Magdorad eats lobster?

(Group exclamation points)

Rif: Magdorad is the one Anise summoned before, right? Are you suggesting we use lobster to lure him out of Anise's clutches?

Tram: Oh my, no, I was just wondering aloud if he might like it as a treat.
-But unlike the Phantom Dragon, Magdorad doesn't seem to do so well in water, so perhaps not.
-I have to find out what kind of food he likes best.

Rif: Are you planning to use him somehow?

Tram: Before you go jumping to conclusions, I would never abuse my powers as a Summoner in such a way.
-I would only tie the food to a string and dangle it in front of his face so I could get rides everywhere.

Rif: …

Tram: Don't give me that look. Do you have any idea how trying it is to have to walk everywhere?

Rif: Actually, yes. Even though there's a train station at my home town, I can't afford to take it.

Tram: I wish we had a train station in Louise Village. I hate being stuck in the same place all the time.

Rif: Well, you could, you know, leave.

Tram: Anyway, shall we go find a suitable snack for Magdorad?
-Dragons are highly revered by our people, largely because they often have an intelligence equal to or sometimes greater than our own... so we'll be the talk of the town once they see me and Murno riding around on one!
-(takes Murno's hand, much to Killfith and Rif's annoyance)

Murno: Why me—?!

Rif: Yeah, why does Murno get to ride on Magdorad? I want to ride on a dragon!

Tram: But you already defeated Magdorad, so there's no way he'll let you get on his back.
    -Besides, Murno's way cuter.

Rif: Hey, I'd be cute if I were a blond!

Tram: Good luck with that.
    -(leaves with Murno)

Killfith: Tch, taking Murno again...! Hey, you! Quit dragging your feet before I drop you off another cliff!

Rif: Why me?

Gallahan: Good luck with that.

//Happy April Fool's Day!//

Day Seven, Part Four

(At the end of the level, Tram and the others are waiting)

Tram: Seems you somehow managed to muddle through after all. This is the Time of Judgment.

Rif: This is...? Isn't it just a big, open space?
-Why did we have to come all the way out here, specifically, just to have a match?

Tram: Legend says that a match held here during this time of day will only allow the righteous to come out victorious.
-For that and various other reasons, we decided that this would be the best place for the match.

Killfith: What an idiotic superstition.

Tram: This is also where trespassers would face judgment, which makes it an even more suitable place to hold a match with you.
-Of course, since you're not a trespasser, you don't have to worry that we'll drop you into the lava in the event that you lose.

Rif: Saying you drop trespassers into the lava is just a joke, right...?

Gallahan: It is almost time, Tram. Is it really a good idea to scare her off before we’ve even gotten to the match?

Tram: Ah, my apologies. I should have been more careful.

Rif: (annoyed) What was that?! I'm not afraid of anything!

Killfith: Calm down. Don't you want to win this thing?

Rif: That's right… sorry, I almost lost my cool.
    -Thanks, Killfith.

Gallahan: Hoho... you certainly look fierce enough.
-However, both parties may only use one weapon in the match, so you must choose one before we can begin.

(Side Conversation)
Rif: The time has finally come for the one-on-one match with Tram! I have to choose my strongest weapon and prepare as thoroughly as I can!

Killfith: We've already come this far. Rather than waiting for you to lose, I don't see what's preventing me from getting rid of those two myself.
-I could end this in the blink of an eye.

Rif: I'm going to pretend that you're only saying such disturbing things because you're worried about me!
(End)

Once Rif is equipped with only one weapon and four items for use in battle, she steps up to the plate.

Gallahan: Seems you have all your preparations for the match in order.

Rif:
-You've got that right!  >Let's Go
-Erm, hold on just a minute longer.  >Wait

Wait
Gallahan: Very well... although I hope you'll be able to get ready in short order.

Let's Go
Gallahan: Then let us begin…

(Rif and Tram face each other with everyone else on the sidelines)

Murno: (...) Rif...

Killfith: Hmph... you know, if you wear such a concerned look on your face, it'll probably only
make her more anxious...

Murno: Ah, I'm sorry, Killfith...
-That's right... I just have to believe in Rif...

Rif and Tram: ...

Gallahan: All right... then...
    -LET THE MATCH COMMENCE!

(Rif and Tram fight)

Day Seven Side Quests

One-Shots

Do they have mountain springs in Lyndbaum?
(Brown-haired kid next to the blacksmith shop)
Child: Holy moly, you’ve got some durable bark there!
-I’ll give you somma my Mountain Spring Water for it, whaddya say?

(Trade?)
    -Yes
    -No

(Obtained Crystal Clear Water!)

Child: Heehee... and the winner is me.

Accepting the Quests

Maybe he’s into the black arts
(Dude to the right inside the shop)
Salesman: Excuse me, sorry to bother, but could you come here a moment?
-If you go knocking around the local ruins, would you mind looking for an Ore of Darkness for me?
-I'd be sure to give you something good in exchange.

Why does everyone want a weapon from you?
(Further down the area outside the blacksmith shop is a man with dark hair)
Man: You're a Craftknight, right?
-Hmm, maybe I should order a weapon from you.
-I really want this ax called a Common Ax...
-But to make it, you know, you need some Common Crystal, first.

(Accept order?)
    -Yes
    -No

(Received an order for a weapon!)

Man: Have fun and don’t fall off any cliffs, okay?

Oh Infamous Kitty
(Blond ponytail girl inside a house to the right of the screen)
Cat-Lover: Hey, have you seen a white cat anywhere?
-Wherever she is, I'll bet she's purring right now, so please save her for me.

Completing the Quests

Maybe he’s into the black arts
Salesman: Ooh! That's it. Would you please give me one?

(Hand over Ore of Darkness?)
    -Yes
    -No

Salesman: Thank you. Please take this in its place.

(Obtained Cute Crystal!)

Salesman: Isn’t it a beauty?

Why does everyone want a weapon from you?
(After giving the man a Common Ax, which is a #17 Ax)

Man: Mm-hm, as I thought, compared with Gallahan's work, this thing feels downright dreadful.
-So instead of money, this should work as payment, right?

(Obtained Cute Crystal!)

Man: Still, if I had the chance, I might ask for another weapon from you.

Oh Infamous Kitty
Cat-Lover: (to cat) Welcome back, Killfith!
-Hm? Oh, Killfith is her name, doncha know.
-Here, take this as thanks, okay?

(Obtained Cute Crystal!)

Cat-Lover: (to cat) Now, no more running off into the dangerous unknown for you!

Sunday, March 27, 2011

Day Seven, Part Three

(Gumag's Blazing Ruins)

Rif: Geez...! What is this? This time it's ridiculously hot.

Killfith: Tch... we're in the middle of a lake of lava, of course it'll be sweltering.

Tram: If you can't even bear this level of heat, there's no way you'll manage to get all the way to the Time of Judgment.
-Lately, the Summon Creatures that protect the ruins also seem to have gotten much more vicious.

Murno: (...) For even the Summon Creatures out here to become so ferocious...

Rif: Well if that's true, how are you holding up, Killfith?

Killfith: Don't be an idiot. It would only affect the weakest among us. Obviously it wouldn’t even touch me.

Rif: What on earth are the Summon Creatures here supposed to be protecting?

Tram: If you want to know that, you'll just have to win against me in a match.

Rif: Have it your way.

Tram: Now, I will serve as Miss Murno's guide until we arrive at the Time of Judgment.

Rif: (annoyed) Hold on a minute! Why should you be her guide?!

Tram: What’s wrong? I can’t be your guide as well. Or can’t you make it to the Time of Judgment on your own?
-If not, we won't be able to have our match.

Rif: Cripes, you're annoying!

Murno: I'll be fine. I don't want to end up a burden for you two.
    -So, please…

Rif: I understand... we'll make it to the Time of Judgment for certain, and once we get there, I'll definitely win!

Tram: Then, we'll go on up ahead without further delay. Be sure to arrive fully prepared.

Gallahan: You may use the workshop as you need, but use utmost caution with the tools. Dismissed!

Rif: All righty! Let's get going!

Killfith: Whatever you wish.

When you come to the first obstacle…

Info: If you hit the switches on the floor with your hammer, it will cause the plates floating on the lava to move.
-Which direction they move depends on which way the switch is pointing. The maximum number of switches that you can operate at a time is four.

At the end of the hall…

Info: In order to open the door, hit the switches with the weapon that corresponds to the picture.

(Side Conversation)
Rif: I know we have to get all the way to the Time of Judgment, but I still can't believe how hot it is in Gumag's Blazing Ruins. How are you holding up, Killfith?

Killfith: ... ......... ...........................

Rif: Umm, Killfith...? Maybe you're really not feeling okay?

Killfith: My element is water. For me, it’s hot even under normal circumstances… but don’t think for a second that’s enough to make me ‘not feel okay.’

Rif: (S… scaryyy… although the chill that glare sends down my spine is pretty refreshing.)
(End)

Friday, March 25, 2011

Day Seven, Part Two

(Side Conversation)
Rif: I've gotta make sure I'm all ready to fight Tram, and then we're headed off to the plaza in front of the ruins where everyone is waiting.

Killfith: Has it occurred to you that you're going to have a match inside some ancient ruins just to look at enchanted crystals inside the same ruins?

Rif: I've already decided to give this match everything I've got. There's no point nitpicking at the details now!
(End)

(In front of the ruins)

Tram: Assuming you aren’t all here to play a game of poker, aren’t there quite a few more non-competitors here than we had originally planned?

Gallahan: Yes... they claimed that they wanted to preside over the match as well.
-What is your opinion on the matter?

Tram: But... Gumag's Blazing Ruins is a place where, originally, even the villagers are forbidden from entering.
-Even if we are only going to hold a match, it may create a problem...

Rif: What's the problem, exactly? Once I win you'll have to show us around inside anyway.

Tram: Heh... you honestly believe you're going to win against me, don't you? How pitiable.

Rif: What's that supposed to mean?

Tram: You seem to have such high hopes, yet in the end you won't be able to see even a glimpse of the crystals. I'd say that's pitiable.
-But I suppose there's no harm in it. You all have my permission to be present for the match.

Murno: You'll really let us? Thank you so very much!

Tram: There's no need to thank me. The enchanted crystals you want to see so much are much deeper in the ruins than the Time of Judgment.

Killfith: So if we don't win, we won't be able to see them, huh... he's also pretty confident, isn't he?

Rif: Just leave it to me. I'll definitely beat him!

Gallahan: (...) All right, it's settled. Now I will once again confirm the conditions of the match.
-It will be a one-on-one battle between Rif and Tram. During the fight, only one weapon may be used by each opponent.

Rif: Just one weapon, huh...

Gallahan: A competitor loses either when their weapon breaks or they are no longer able to continue fighting.

Tram: And of course, if you cannot manage to get to the Time of Judgment, that also counts as a loss.
-Within the ruins, a great many Summon Creatures exist in order to repel intruders.

Murno: (...) Rif…

Rif: It's okay. Don't worry about a thing.

Tram: Well, let's not waste any more time. Shall we, Miss Murno?

Murno: Ah, wait…

(Tram drags her along, much to Killfith's indignation)

Killfith: Tch... grabbing Murno... Hey, pick up your feet already! We're going!

Rif: Uh... r-right!

(Side Conversation)
Rif: The Time of Judgment within Gumag's Blazing Ruins...

Killfith: Quit dragging your feet! We've got to catch up to them.

Rif: He’s always the same whenever it concerns Murno, isn’t he…
(End)

Day Seven, Part One

Rif: So it's finally time for the match with Tram, huh? He won't know what hit him!

Killfith: How exactly are you planning to win against him by yourself?

Rif: What do you mean? You're not worried about me, are you?

Killfith: (blushing) Wh—who in their right mind would worry about you! It's just that if you lose, we won't be able to examine the enchanted crystals and it would be unnecessarily bothersome…

Rif: I see, so you want me to win for Murno, right? I'll do my best.
-Speaking of which, while I'm busy with that, what are you going to be doing?

Killfith: … It's a pain, but I doubt you'd be able to win without me tagging along.

Rif: Killfith...

Killfith: Not to mention you'd run off with your tail between your legs without me there to stand guard.

Rif: Not much one for pep talk, are you… but thanks anyway.

(Side Conversation)
Rif: The time has finally come for the match with Tram.

Killfith: It'll be a nuisance otherwise, so you better win.

Rif: Yeah, I know, for Murno's sake, right? I'll do my best.
(End)

(Outside the workshop)

Murno: Ah, Rif.

(They walk up)

Murno: Um...

Rif: You don't have to wear that worried expression, you know, because I'm going to win no matter what. Just leave it to me!

Murno: But a match… you’ve already done so much for me, and doing this too, I just…

Rif: It'll be all right. I wanted to have a match with this guy, so you don't have to over-think it.

Killfith: Hmph… At any rate, you're the only person she wants to put on a happy face for.
-So try not to worry too much.

Rif: (blushes slightly) Don’t put words in my mouth.

Gallahan: (enters)
-If you're ready to depart, Tram is already waiting for us to proceed.

Rif: Huh? You're coming too?

Gallahan: Indeed. I will be serving as a witness.

Rif: A witness? What for?

Killfith: Tch… someone has to be there to witness the results of the match to make sure it’s a fair game.

Gallahan: Indeed. For any match that makes use of the Time of Judgment, it is necessary that someone be there to represent the village to ensure that there is no foul play.

Murno: Excuse me... but would it be all right for me to be a witness as well?

Gallahan: What are you saying! There are many dangers in the ruins where the Time of Judgment takes place. If you are not also a Craftknight, then…

Murno: I understand, but... I would really like to go with you.

Rif: Murno…

Gallahan: (...) Hmm... I see... well, I suppose there's no harm in asking Tram.

Murno: I'm sorry for the trouble, and thank you very much!

Killfith: If Murno is allowed to go, then you shouldn't have any complaints about me joining as a witness as well.

Gallahan: Very well, you may ask him. Anyway, we have to go.
-The Time of Judgment is located in Gumag's Blazing Ruins, which are set above Requiem's Submerged Ruins. But first, we shall gather in the plaza in front of the ruins.

Rif: Requiem's Submerged Ruins... the place where Lord Nushi's from, right? Gotcha!

(Murno and Gallahan depart)

Night Six - Murno

Murno: Rif, here you are.
    -What are you doing here?

Rif: Um, yeah, I was just thinking about the match tomorrow.

Murno: I'm so sorry... it's only because I made such a selfish request that you're forced into yet another match…

Rif: You shouldn't worry about that, it's fine! It’ll be interesting to see if they're hiding some kind of secret with those enchanted crystals, don’t you think?
-And besides, this didn't turn into a match because of Murno. That was all Gallahan's idea, right?

Murno: Thank you, Rif. You're really very kind...

Rif: Wha! Um… it's nothing like that…

Murno: But today, you battled with a huge Summon Creature just so you could save me...

Rif: Except the truth is that we were completely fooled... guess that's pretty uncool...

Murno: That's not true at all! I was really happy when I heard that you did all that just to protect me...

Rif: Murno...

Murno: But you don't have to do anything too reckless. I'm happy just knowing that you're safe.

Rif: I understand. I'll be careful.

Night Six - Killfith

Killfith: Tch... here you are.
-Catch any flies with your mouth gaping open like that?

Rif: No… I was just thinking about the match tomorrow.

Killfith: If it's thinking you're doing this late at night, you must have realized that you don't stand a good chance of winning by yourself.

Rif: What are you talking about! I could win against that guy with my eyes closed!
-... Well, I'd like to say that, but I’m a little nervous about fighting by myself.

Killfith: Hmph... didn't think I'd hear something so disgustingly meek from you.

Rif: Yeah, but you know, you seem pretty unaffected even after pulling such an amazing transformation and saving me.

Killfith: Transformation? I hope you're joking! The form I have now barely has any power at all. I still can't believe I have to go around looking like this.

Rif: Y—yeah, I guess that's true. Sorry, I forgot. But I'm glad that you were able to return to your original form.

Killfith: Tch… I just can't believe I was able to pull that power out of me for something like that…

Rif: Something like what?

Killfith: (blushing) None of your business!

Rif: Huh? There's no need to get angry… and why are you turning red?

Killfith: I'm not turning red! And if you keep mocking me, I'll kill you!

Rif: What, you wanna fight? Hey, I’ll bet with you transformed in front of Tram, he’d be so scared stiff that the match would be a piece of cake!

Killfith: Transformed… … Tch… Forget it.
    -(leaves)

Rif: What the heck… man, that kid is really hard to understand.

Day Six, Part Thirteen

(After Anise has been taken away)

Tram: I can only offer you my deepest apologies for all that has transpired. I will have the demon stone returned to you forthwith.

Killfith: Is that all you have to say? You don't honestly think we'll forgive you with a mere apology, do you?

Gallahan: Tram had a duty to protect Lord Nushi, so much of this could not be helped.

Killfith: Couldn't be helped? Don't even try to screw with me, geezer!

Gallahan: Watch your language, young man.

(Rif notices Murno staring off towards the left)

Rif: What is it? Is there something there?

Murno: The mounds of crystal in this place... although they seem to be broken here... they look the same as the ones from my village…

Tram: Ahh... do you mean the enchanted crystals?

Rif: Enchanted crystals...?

Tram: There’s a possibility that the person who founded this village originally came from your village.
-Above these Submerged Ruins is another set of ruins where there might still be some enchanted crystals left intact, but…

Murno: Would you be able to show them to us? I want to see if they’re the same as the ones I know.

Tram: Unfortunately, no one is allowed to enter Gumag's Blazing Ruins.

Rif: Are you serious? After everything you've put us through, letting us go there would be the very least you could do!

Tram: That is not a good enough reason to allow entry into a place that is strictly prohibited. Even aside from that, just going in there…
-The ruins are filled to the brim with Summon Creatures. I don’t see how you would be able to fight your way through them just to reach the crystals deep within…

Rif: Excuse me?! Are you calling us weak? You wanna take us on and find out for yourself what we're made of?

Gallahan: (!) That's it, a match! Since you're a Craftknight, there's no reason why we can't settle this by way of a match!

Rif: You know, I wasn't really serious…

Gallahan: In this village, I believe the most suitable place for such a match to be held would be in the “Time of Judgment”…
-And once there, how about you compete one-on-one with Tram?

Rif: You want me to fight in some place called the Time of Judgment?!

Gallahan: That's right. Mano-a-mano between you and Tram, with no interference from any Summon Creatures. If you win, then as part of our apology to you, we shall guide you through the Blazing Ruins.
-But if Tram wins, you'll all float back down the stream where you came from without complaint!

Tram: (panicky) But, Gallahan! I don't think a match just now is well-advised.

Gallahan: I'm tired of all this endless prattle, so it’s settled!
    -Be sure to prepare yourself!
    -(leaves)

Tram: Please hold on just a moment! First and foremost, the Time of Judgment is in the Blazing Ruins, so doesn’t that defeat the purpose a little...!
    -(runs after)

Killfith: Will this really be okay?

Rif: Why wouldn't it be? Anyway, let's head back.

(Nighttime)

-After some more debate, we set the match with Tram for tomorrow.
-We also decided that we would be staying in Gallahan's house for the night.
-But none of that really matters, because either way I’m going to win!

Rif: There's not really that much to think about concerning the one-on-one match with Tram.
-Instead, all I can think is that no one knows where we are right now or what kind of mess we've gotten into. I wonder if they're worried…
    -I wonder what everyone's doing now…

Rif:
-Some of Master's stew about now would really hit the spot.
-I miss seeing Aniki's scary face.
-I wonder what Tier’s been up to lately?

Rif: (?) I wonder if someone's there... could it be—

Day Six, Part Twelve

(After the Phantom Dragon is defeated)

Phantom Dragon: Mraaahh…

Rif: Looks like it's settled down.
-Uh... Killfith, why did you change back?

Killfith: … I'm tired.

Anise: Why?! Why did you go so easy on them? Why didn't you kill them?!

Tram: Lord Nushi was testing them. He has no desire to exercise his full power on those who are not evil.

Anise: What are you trying to say?! Would you actually believe this Summon Creature's verdict over mine?!

Tram: ‘This Summon Creature,’ is it…

(The path returns and a several people run into the underground palace)

Rif: Murno!

Murno: Rif!

Tram: Gallahan... why did you bring that girl here?

Gallahan: No, you see, she was in such a state, asking so desperately, that I, well...
-In any case, I don't think they're bad kids, do you?

Anise: That's not for you to decide...!

Gallahan: Why don't you try listening to their story, if you feel that way?
-Well, Miss Jail-Breaker, are you going to explain to us why you came all the way out here?

Rif: Of course!

(fade to black)

Rif: … And that's it, I think.

Anise: Are you actually trying to say that I'm the one who orchestrated all of this? Ha! That's ridiculous.
-First and foremost, why do you automatically declare me to be the only suspect? If you ask me, Gallahan seems rather suspicious, as well.

Gallahan: What did you say? That’s outrageous!

Anise: Is it? For someone who lives in this village, you seem to be awfully close to these children. Not to mention…
-If I’m not mistaken, you’re the only one in this village who would have had the time and opportunity to use a Sleep Bomb to knock the Prison Guard unconscious!

Gallahan: What are you talking about? I did no such thing!

Tram: Hold on a moment, Anise… how would you know such a thing?

Anise: What thing? What are you talking about?

Tram: That a Sleep Bomb was used. How would you know that?

Anise: Wha—what do you mean, this kid just said…

Tram: NO, SHE DID NOT!

Anise: Kh...!

Tram: On the contrary, from my understanding of her story, one would need to be at the actual scene of the crime in order to know such a thing…
-Sorry, Anise, but I'll need to hear a detailed explanation for all this.

Anise: Tram...!

Tram: I want you to think before offering any resistance. I don’t want to force my men to handle you roughly.

Anise: …
-(resigned) All right. But don't think I've lost to you just yet…

Tram: I expected better of you, Anise…

Anise: As did I. I made just one false step and my entire strategy came crashing down...
-(to Rif) I'll be sure to kill you for this!

Rif: Wha! Wait a sec!

(Murno, infuriated, runs up to Anise and slaps her across the face)

Murno: Why you...! It's because of you that we were—

Anise: Ha! So it’s the victim’s turn to stare down the villain, huh? I guess as long as you have these people to protect you, you don’t have to worry about not being able to handle that demon stone of yours…

Tram: (...) I really did expect better of you. Your heart is truly dyed in Voijin's colors…
-Enough of this! Take her to her cell!

(Anise is escorted away)

Day Six, Part Eleven

(Side Conversation)
Rif: We've already been held back by so many fakes! And the real Murno...

Killfith: She should be down just one more level! And if we don't get there fast, she might already be that Summon Creature's dinner!

Rif: There's no way we'll let that happen!
(End)

Finally, our adventurers come upon a chamber with symbols scrawls on the floor. Oh yeah, and the bad guys are there, too.

Rif: (!)

Anise: Ha... what's this? Exactly what do you think you're doing in a place like this?

Rif: It... it's you...!

Tram: Seems you've managed to overcome the illusions up till now... although I imagine someone must have helped you out of your cell.

Rif: Why you...! Give Murno back!

Tram: Murno...? Wasn't she returned to the prison a short while ago?

Rif: What?! No, you guys are here because you were going to feed Murno to that Summon Creature Lord Nushi and…

Tram: Feed her, were we...?

Anise: Ha! If that's your excuse, I wonder what kind of a creature you think Nushi is!

Rif: Excuse?!

Anise: You two came all the way here looking for Lord Nushi. Is that correct?

Rif: … What are you talking about! Where's Murno...?!

Anise: Silence, thief!

Rif: Thief?! Why am I a thief all of a sudden?!

Killfith: I see... we were played for fools.

Rif: N… no way, are you serious?!

Anise: It’s clear now more than ever that you are a part of the group that once attacked this village.
-That you escaped from prison just to find Lord Nushi is undeniable proof of that!

Rif: No, I told you already, we thought Murno was...

Anise: (...) Surely you understand now, Tram.

Tram: Yes, thank you. If not for your intervention, I might have been in danger of believing that girl...

Rif: (annoyed) I don't believe this...!

(He takes something off an altar and turns back to Rif)

Tram: After the attack on this village and seeing how far you would go to get at Lord Nushi, I cannot simply send you back.
-Given how much effort you've put into finding Lord Nushi, it only seems fitting that he himself should be the one to judge you!

(The floor plate leading to the exit disappears)

Rif: The path...!

(A sphere of purple light appears)

Tram: Respond to my voice. Break through this earth and bestow thy judgment upon these fools. I summon thee...
    -Phantom Dragon!!!

Oh crap

Phantom Dragon: MRAAAARR!!

Rif: Crap it's big...!

Killfith: Phantom Dragon... so I guess this is this village's Summon Creature Lord Nushi, huh…

Rif: This is dangerous... I wonder if I'd even be able to survive a battle with this thing…

Killfith: Heheh... there's no place to run to.

Rif: (...) Killfith…

Killfith: What is it?

Rif:
-Please, take care of Murno.  >Fight to the Last
-I'll win this.  >Fight to the Last

Fight to the Last
Killfith: Rif... no way, are you...

Rif: Killfith! I've already decided for myself, so let me do this!
    -(steps toward the dragon)

Killfith: Dammit...! Have I sunk so low that even this child has to protect me?!
-What a sick joke! If I had my spiritual powers back, this fight would be nothing… I need power!

Anise: Tram, quickly!

Tram: Face judgment!

(At the last second, Killfith pushes Rif out of the way)

Rif: Eiaaa!!

Killfith: Rif!

(Once the light clears, we see Killfith in his original form)

Rif: Killfith! You're...!

Killfith: Seems that my powers did return, just so I could… tch… unbelievable…

Rif: Killfith, you're… that's so cool!

Tram: He transformed?!

Anise: Don't lose your head, Tram! Him transforming doesn't change anything! Just hurry up and deal with them!

Tram: Ah, right! Go!

Killfith: I'll make you regret crossing me.

(Killfith fights the Phantom Dragon)

Day Six, Part Ten

The Friend
Rif: Understood... let's head back...

Murno: Thank goodness.

Killfith: (...) I see... so in the end, you didn't believe me.

Rif: It's not that, but... can you really prove that she's an illusion?

Killfith: You want me to prove it?

Rif: If you can't do that, then I don't think I should leave Murno in a place like this.

Killfith: And while you're doing that, are you just going to leave the real Murno to be turned into an afternoon snack by that monster Nushi-what’s-his-face?

Rif: Of course not… but…!

Murno: Don’t be fooled, Rif. Look, I can even prove that he is a fake…

(Another Killfith appears)

???: Looks like someone's been running around, trying to copy me...

Killfith: Tch… that's certainly the last thing I expected.

???: I'll make you vanish, you eyesore!

(And thus ensues a fight between two Killfiths)

Killfith: This phony may look like me, but he only has a fraction of my powers.
-So hurry up and vanish, you eyesores!

(Which they obediently do.)

Killfith: Now do you understand? They were fakes.

Rif: ... I'm sorry, Killfith... I shouldn't have doubted you…

Killfith: I didn’t really think you would believe me in the first place.
-And considering Murno was the only thing on your mind, I’ll forgive you.

Rif: (blushes) Wh—what is that supposed to mean, Murno’s not the only thing I ever think about…

Killfith: Just shut up and get moving.

Rif: Geez, all right, already!

The Partner
Rif: It's like Killfith said. There's no way that Murno would have ever helped anyone attack a village!
-So stand aside so we can move forward!

Killfith: Rif...!

Murno: Do you really think that from the bottom of your heart...?
-In fact... that's only what you want to think, isn't it?

Rif: No, that's what I really think!

???: Ahaha, quit bluffing...

(While our heroes are busy being puzzled, another Rif appears!)

Rif: Aren't you...?! Wait just a... how on earth is that...!

???: I think the only person who's suspicious around here is this girl right in front of me. There's no doubt she's a bad guy…
-After all the stalling she's done, maybe she actually wants her friend to face punishment…

Rif: Shut up...

???: Hurry and head on home, why don't you?

Rif: I told you to shut up!

(And thus Rif must fight with herself, only not in a metaphorical sense)

Rif: Well, you understand now? Murno is in no way friends with those jerks, and you guys are just fakes!
-And phonies like you should just disappear!

(And so they do.)

Rif: All right! Let's hurry, Killfith!

Killfith: I can't believe you actually took my word for it.

Rif: Well it was something my partner told me, so isn't it only natural?
    -Come on, let's go!

Killfith: Whatever you wish.

Day Six, Part Nine

Deep within Requiem's Submerged Ruins…

Rif: That's...!

Killfith: Murno?!

Rif: Murno, are you all right? You're not hurt, are you? Wait, what happened with Lord Nushi...?

Murno: I... managed to escape...

Rif: You got all the way here? By yourself?!

Murno: Yes... but we have to hurry... we have to go back.

Rif: Y-yeah...
-Understood! Let's leave immediately.  >No Questions
-But I want to know something first...  >Hold up

No Questions
Rif: Then let's get the heck out of here.

Murno: Thank goodness. And let's not come here a second time, okay?  >Back to the Beginning

Hold up
Rif: Um, I just want to know... are you really Murno...?

Murno: What do you mean, if I really am? Isn't it obvious?

Rif: It's just that before I met up with someone who looked like Master, but then she just disappeared. This place is really strange.

Murno: Well believe me, I'm the real thing. And we have to go back quickly, before those people have a chance to capture us again...
-Or else this time, they’ll really feed me to Lord Nushi!

Rif: That's...! Those guys are trying to…

Killfith: Why did you mention your punishment all of a sudden?

Murno: Are you still trying to test if I'm the real thing or not?

Killfith: (scowls) Test you? I don't need to test you to know what you are.

Murno: (...) You should be careful, Rif. Perhaps Killfith is the one who is an imitation here...

Rif: What?! That can't be right…

Killfith: Suggesting I'm a fake... if I hear another bad joke like that from the likes of you, don't think I'll let it slide easily.

Murno: If you’re the real Killfith, then why does it sound like you want them to capture me again?

Killfith: Why you… how dare you say that?

Murno: I suppose there’s no helping it… I can think of a way to prove that I am who I say I am.
-I just have to reveal the truth…

Killfith: Reveal the truth…?

Murno: The truth that I was one of Voijin’s companions who helped to attack this village!

Rif: Murno was Voijin's comrade...? Wha… what are you talking about...?

Murno: I'm sorry I never told you before, but it's true. I was Voijin's comrade.
-However, I exposed the fact that they had been dealing in the black market, and so I was labeled as a traitor and pursued by Anise and my former comrades…

Rif: But… saying that you… were their comrade...

Murno: I understand that this must come as a shock to you, but we have no time to lose!

Killfith: Don't be taken in my this idiocy. She's an imitation. A fake.
-Saying Murno has ever been connected to those cretins... don't think I'll let this end peacefully for spouting those kinds of insults!

Murno: It's no good, Rif. He must be a fake. You have to trust me, and then we have to get out of here right away!

Rif: Killfith, Murno... I... I...!

Rif:
    -I believe Murno.  >The Friend
    -I believe Killfith.  >The Partner

Day Six, Part Eight

(Side Conversation)
Rif: The Summon Creature Lord Nushi should be down two levels, so let's hurry and rescue Murno!

Killfith: I wonder if that apparition of Tier will appear again...

Rif: You said it “wasn't a person,” so I wonder if it'll be okay…

Killfith: It doesn't matter what it was. If it shows up again, we'll finish it off again, simple as that.
(End)

Further ahead, they come upon an area that appears empty until…

???: Rif...!

Rif: What? Wasn't that Master's voice...?

Killfith: ... Do you think you heard the real thing this time?

Rif: (!)
    -What...? Somebody's there now…

Behold! Two familiar faces this time.

Rif: Master?! Aniki?! What on earth are you doing here?!

V.E: What are you talking about! We'd all decided to come here and rescue you guys!

Jade: Come on, it's our job to protect you! Hey, you're not hurt, are you?

Rif: Ah... no, we're just fine, but Murno...

V.E: What happened to Murno?

Rif: There's this Summon Creature called Lord Nushi, and they're going to give her to him as food…

Jade: I gotcha. You can leave the rest up to us. Meanwhile, you guys head back!

Rif: But...!

Killfith: She's already given her word that she will protect Murno.

Jade: I understand how you guys must feel, but from here on out, it'll only get more dangerous, and I can't just let you go without saying anything.

V.E: You can leave the rest up to us, can't you? You already had us worried enough as it is...

Rif: But I...
-I don't want them to worry, so we'll go back.  >Obedience
-We have to keep going so we can protect Murno.  >Disobedience

Obedience
Rif: I understand... we'll go back. Please, be sure to rescue Murno for us...

V.E: Good! Thatagirl!

Jade: Just leave everything up to us. You guys just be sure not to come near here a second time...

Rif: Aniki... Master...  >Back to the Beginning

Disobedience
Rif: But I would still be worried about Murno! So, let me come with you to save her!

Jade: (narrows eyes) Why you... it sounds like you don't believe we can do it.

V.E: You almost sound like you enjoy making us worry... really, what an awful thing to say…

Rif: N—no, that's not what I—

V.E: Such a disrespectful apprentice needs to be re-educated, don't you think?

(Cue fight with both V.E and Jade)

Rif: (?) What is this...? The feeling I’m getting from these two is completely wrong…

(And thus they disappear)

Rif: What?! You mean again...?

Killfith: I knew something was wrong with the surges flooding this place. Do you think they're what’s causing the illusions?

Rif: I don't have a clue, but whether this place gives us the creeps or not is beside the point. We have to keep moving forward!

(Side Conversations)
Rif: The Summon Creature Lord Nushi should be down two levels, so let's hurry and rescue Murno!

Killfith: Heh… with everything we've faced till now, I wonder what illusion we get to fight next? This should be fun.

Rif: So long as it's someone weak, that's fine with me.
(End)

Day Six, Part Seven

(Requiem's Submerged Ruins)

Rif: Wow... the air's really cold in here... is it because of the water?

Killfith: What? This surge… something changed with you. What an unpleasant sensation…

Rif: What do you mean? Do I do something weird?

Killfith: No, it’s not that. It's something with you, but I'm already used to it.

Rif: What the heck was that about? Never mind, let's just go!

(Side Conversation)
Rif: The Summon Creature Lord Nushi should be down two levels, so let's hurry and rescue Murno!

Killfith: There’s this strange surge coming from the heart of the ruins… it has a slimy feeling to it.

Rif: So I guess the atmosphere around here is only going to get worse, huh… in any case, we have to be careful.
(End)

Info: If you hit any one of the three switches on the floor with your hammer, the plates corresponding with that switch will rise up out of the water.

In the next area, we find a familiar face…

Rif: Tier?!

Tier: Rif!

Rif: Are you all right?! What are you doing here?!

Killfith: Tch… thanks to these unpleasant surges, I can't see her aura.

Tier: Help… I really don't like this place...!

Rif: Are you hurt?

Tier: With all these scary Stray Summons, I thought for sure I was doomed... but then you showed up...
-So, shall we head back together?

Rif: Wait a minute. Tier, we're—

Killfith: You're not just going to forget about Murno, are you?

Tier: No...! I don't want to go any further into this place... please, let's just go back!

Rif: What should I do...?

Rif:
-I'll take Tier back outside!  >Pity
-Murno's in danger, so I have to keep going!  >Forging On

Pity
Rif: I guess I can't just leave Tier all alone here, can I?

Tier: Thank you, Rif! You're the best!
-Which is why I can't let you come this way…

Rif: Huh? But...  >Back to the Beginning

Back to the Beginning
With a flash of white light, Rif and Killfith find themselves back at the beginning of the dungeon with a touch of amnesia...

Rif: Huh? What was I doing again...? Umm…

Killfith: Tch... what do you mean what were you doing, you were...
    -(frowns) You were...?

Rif: What, don't tell me you don't know either?

Killfith: Quit screwing around! We were looking for her. For Murno.

Rif: Murno...?
-That's right! We have to get to the heart of the ruins and save her!

Forging On
Rif: I'm sorry, Tier, but right now Murno will be in big trouble if I don't hurry and find her!

Tier: Does... that mean that Murno is more important to you than I am...?

Rif: What are you talking about? That doesn't have anything to do with...

(Tier pulls out her bow, much to our heroes' surprise)

Tier: I don't want to hear another word! I'll never forgive you!

Rif: Wait, Tier, calm down! Where do you think you're pointing that thing?!

(Fight Tier)

Rif: (annoyed) Honestly! What on earth were you thinking, suddenly pulling that on us like...

(Tier disappears in a flash of white light)

Rif: What?! She just... what's going on?!

Killfith: She vanished without leaving a single trace behind.

Rif: What on earth just happened?! People can't just vanish like that, can they?

Killfith: Indeed. If that was an actual person, she wouldn't have been able to disappear.

Rif: So what you're saying is that... the Tier we saw just now wasn't actually a person...
    -WHAT?!

Killfith: This is neither the time nor the place to puzzle these things out. The most important thing right now is to find Murno.

Rif: Can't argue with that. Let's get a move on!
